Tawa College B Block Refurbishment
Tawa College of Wellington wanted to refurbish the toilet areas to the B & C blocks of the school. Zhoosh was the appointed contractor who worked with the school to complete the toilet block refurbishment.
Our work involved the demolition and strip out of existing outdated toilet facilities. We constructed new offices and unisex toilet cubicles suited to modern learning centres of the 21st century.
There were many challenges that arose in working with a 60-year-old building however Zhoosh overcame these issues with careful planning and our experience in the interior construction industry.
The existing toilet blocks were the original 1970s design and outdated. The college required a modern 21st-century ablutions area which included refurbishing the existing toilet blocks and converting them into individual uni-sex cubicles.
The new cubicles we designed in a way to give students maximum privacy a clean and bright modern ablutions facilities.
Zhoosh carried out the refurbishment project over 4 months and the refurbishment scope of work included, stripping out existing toilets and basins, removing wall linings, constructing new timber-framed walls, the installation of new doors, linings, painting and finishings to ceilings, walls & floors.
The refurbishment project included upgrading all the lighting with new sensor LED lighting, new hand dryers, sanitary fittings and an upgrade to the fire alarm system.
